I started my writing career as a journalist five years ago for a small outdoor publication in Louisiana. After my first published piece, I was hooked. Since then, my reporting on outdoor recreation and environmental issues has spanned local newspapers and magazines, and national publications such as Outside and Backpacker.
The inspiration for my debut novel "Between the Levees" came from spending most of my life hunting, fishing and camping in the Atchafalaya Basin not far from my home, as well as my deep appreciation of my Cajun roots.
If there's one thing I love more than the swamps of Louisiana, it's being in the mountains. These days, whenever I get a chance, you can find me backpacking in the mountains.
