I'm an independent journalist taking 2018 to travel across the U.S. and Canada to uncover local stories, as well as explore the nation's natural wonders.
My reporting has appeared in Outside, Backpacker, REI Co-op Journal, Louisiana Sportsman, Mother Earth News, and plenty of other places. I write about the outdoors and environment, particularly hiking, long-distance backpacking, the Appalachian Trail and wetlands issues.
In 2016, I published my debut novel "Between the Levees." The inspiration came from spending most of my life hunting, fishing and camping in the Atchafalaya Basin not far from my childhood home, as well as my deep appreciation of my Cajun roots. I'm busy at work on my second novel.
